Minimum paid-up capital level for applicants is Hong Kong is HKD 1,000,000 according to Local Financial Criteria-Hong Kong of Cargo Agent Handbook 801.

Instructions and special requirements in order to become an IATA

If a document is in foreign language, English translation is required. For the files to be uploaded to IAT A portal, please use following format: pdf, jpeg, jpg, gif, png, xls, xlsx, tif, tiff

Step 1:

Please use IATA portal to fill in your Application Form. The link is as below: www.iata.org/cs

Official certificate of company registration (Business Registry/Company Registry) TWO Basic/Advanced Cargo Certificates or equivalent Cargo Course Certificates

TWO Dangerous Goods Training Course Certificates from any IATA member Airlines, the training establishment which has been appraised and endorsed by IATA as an Accredited Training School or meet IATA Dangerous Goods Board established criteria, FIATA (DGR Certificates submitted must not exceed two years from the date of issue)

Insurance Policies (to cover agents’ liability for loss of or damage to shipper’s cargo from Fire, Theft/Burglary, Public Liability or Bailee)

Audited Financial Statements not more than 6 months after the Agent’s last financial year end at time of submission application with Auditor’s Report, Balance Sheet, Income Statements, Statement Cash Flows, Statement of Change in Equity, Notes to Financial statement.

Note: You are kindly reminded that Financial Report and Statements must not be older than 6 months, according to Local Financial Criteria- Hong Kong of Cargo Agent Handbook 801. However, sanity check of new application materials may take some time. If Financial Report and Statements go expiry at the time of GFA review, we will ask valid Financial Report and Statements again.

If your office is leased, please provide the lease document, if not, please provide the premise documents.

Global Financial Assessor review Financial Report and Statements

Bank Guarantee unlimited, the level will be set according to financial assessment result

The Annual Fees will be collected via Billing Totals Advice (BTA) through CASS billing prior to December each year.
